Ninety-one seconds, one record-shattering premiere, and — if you watch it like an auditor instead of a fan — a surprisingly long list of hard confirmations. This is our detail-by-detail read of Trailer 1: what it established, in our own words, with speculation fenced off where it belongs.

The setting, settled Confirmed
The trailer’s first job was ending a decade of location arguments. Vice City, in the state of Leonida — stated outright in the accompanying announcement. The trailer’s geography tour backs it visually: dense beachfront crowds, art deco hotel rows, inland waterways thick with wildlife, and a swamp shot that would later get an official region name (Grassrivers — see our region guide).
Lucia, and why she matters Confirmed
The trailer opens inside a prison interview and hands the series’ first modern-era female lead her name: Lucia. Her parole-hearing framing — and the follow-up shots of her with an unnamed partner — sketched the story shape everyone now knows. At the time, her partner’s name was speculation; Trailer 2 later confirmed him as Jason. Full official bios for both live on our characters page.
Tone: viral-video Florida Confirmed
Half the trailer is framed as social-media clips — mud-club mayhem, a hammer-wielding pedestrian, an alligator in a convenience store. That’s not incidental editing; it’s a thesis statement about the game’s satirical target. The series has always mocked American media culture; this entry aims squarely at the feed.
What it deliberately didn’t say
No mission footage, no interface, no systems. Everything you read in December 2023 about wanted levels, heist mechanics or map size came from somewhere other than this trailer. Unofficial Some of it may yet prove right — our policy is simply to keep it visibly separate, which is what these badges are for.
The one date it gave us (and took back)
The announcement attached a 2025 window — later revised twice, to May 2026 and then the final November 19, 2026 (the full delay timeline has receipts). Worth remembering whenever a “confirmed” date circulates: even official dates move; unofficial ones aren’t dates at all.
Watch it again knowing what we know
